EastFanArt is a family-run Chinese silk fan studio based in Suzhou, Jiangsu province — the historic heart of Chinese silk embroidery for over 800 years.

EastFanArt 是一家家族经营的中国丝绸团扇工坊，位于江苏省苏州市——八百多年来中国丝绸刺绣的历史核心地带。

Our artisans learned their craft from masters who learned from masters before them. The techniques have been passed down through generations: selecting the finest mulberry silk, steaming and stretching it over hand-bent bamboo frames, layering embroidery threads to create the depth of a peony petal or the curve of a dragon's tail.

We opened for wholesale trade in 2025, bringing museum-quality handcrafted fans to US buyers at direct-from-workshop prices.

Our Craft — Step by Step

我们的工艺 — 步步传承

Every EastFanArt fan is made start-to-finish by a single artisan in our Suzhou workshop. The process has not changed in 300 years:

每一把 EastFanArt 团扇，都由苏州工坊的一位工匠从头至尾独立完成。三百年来，制作工序未曾改变：

1. Frame making — Bamboo is split, steamed, and bent into the round fan frame by hand
2. 制架 — 竹子剖开、蒸煮，手工弯成团扇骨架
3. Silk mounting — Pure mulberry silk is stretched over the frame and fixed with traditional adhesive
4. 蒙面 — 纯桑蚕丝绷于骨架，以传统粘合剂固定
5. Design transfer — The embroidery pattern is hand-sketched onto the silk surface
6. 画稿 — 刺绣图样手工勾绘于丝面之上
7. Embroidery — Using silk threads, each stitch is placed by hand — 3-5 layers for floral work, up to 8 layers for phoenix designs
8. 刺绣 — 以丝线手工施绣，花卉3-5层，凤纹可达8层叠绣
9. Edge binding — The outer edge is hand-bound with silk ribbon for a clean finish
10. 包边 — 外缘以丝带手工包边，收口整洁
11. Quality check — Every fan is inspected for tension, embroidery precision, and frame balance
12. 质检 — 每把团扇检查绷面张力、刺绣精度、骨架平衡
