The Custom Journey
Creating a custom Chinese silk fan is a collaboration between you and our Suzhou artisans. Here's exactly how the process works, from initial concept to finished product.
1. BriefingSend us your design concept, reference images, color preferences, and quantity. We'll advise on what's possible in silk embroidery.
2. Design ProposalOur design team creates a digital mockup of your fan. We refine until you're satisfied. Timeline: 2-3 days.
3. Sample ProductionOne physical sample is handcrafted by our lead artisan. You receive photos and video before we ship. Timeline: 7-10 days.
4. ApprovalYou approve the sample, request adjustments, or start a new iteration. Changes at this stage are fast and free.
5. Bulk ProductionApproved design goes into full production. Each fan made by a single artisan. Quality checked at every stage. Timeline: 15-20 days.
6. ShipmentFans are packed, inspected, and shipped via DHL/FedEx air or sea freight. Delivery to US in 5-7 days (air).
Cost Breakdown
- Design and digitizing fee: $150 (one-time, waived for 500+ orders)
- Sample fan: $25 (refundable with bulk order)
- Bulk production: from $8-12/fan (depending on complexity and quantity)
